Gateway Fold

One of the first challenges I was set as part of a card swap group, was to make a Gateway Fold card.  It ended up being a lot easier than I thought, although it was hard enough to do without a scoring board.  This is when the specialist tools come into their own!


I was using the scoring tool and a ruler on my craft mat for folds but my measurements always seemed a bit off.  It seemed better to fold it manually and get as clean a fold as I could get with my hand!  Now of course with a scoring board it is so much easier - you just need to score two lines - each one 1/4 the length of the card , one from each end.

The gateway fold card is an easy 'fancy' fold - with lots of impact.

Then you place your focal but only adhere it to one side.  In this card I have adhered the larger flower on one side and the greeting on the other, but when closed it looks like they are both in the centre.   The only additional advice I have is that make sure your focal isn't wider (or longer) than the card when closed LOL (yes, I did that mistake first!)
