Double Gate Fold Cards
Double Gate Folds are a card type that I hadn’t tried before
but I do like how sturdy they turn out – nice and strong and they stand up
well. A very easy card but different
enough for people to take notice, get the clear instructions on how to get your
card base here - http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/doublegatefoldcard
Take note – if you want patterns on both sides, you need to
use DOUBLE SIDED patterned paper.
Initially I used very pretty, but single sided thick paper which means
half the card was white… see the green and orange cards below. They are still effective, but I do like the
double sided ones better.
You will need to cut a matt card for the greeting space and
for the front greeting I used the 2 3/8” scallop punch for the stamping space
and 2 ½” round punch for co-ordinating cardstock. As well as stamps I used some grosgrain
ribbon and rhinestones for decoration.
Stamps used were
– the “congratulations” stamp came from Stampin’ Up’s All
Year Cheer set and the “you can never
have too much happy” stamp is from Stampin Up’s Yippee Skippee set.
- the Mother’s Day version used stamps from Stampin Up’s My
Mother set.
- the get well version used a stamp from the Stampin Up
Curvy Verses set and a die cut heart.
- the thank you version used Stampin Up’s So Many Thanks
stamp.
Why not try a Double Gate Fold card next :)
