Colourful Birthday Cards
About the only thing these cards have in common is their
theme – birthdays – and pink!
The first card uses the Big Day stamp set by Stampin Up
which was stamped in the bottom left hand corner of a white cardstock cardfront
and coloured with markers. A strip of
the fantastic Irresistibly Yours paper is on the right.
This paper looks white and has white embossed patterns on
it. You can then sponge it whatever
colour you would like, which makes finding paper to match your inks/cardstock
even easier! Whilst it is a retired
item Stampin Up has made other packs (with different patterns) in the same
way. For this strip of paper I sponged
it with 3 different colours so you can see the little white embossed
stars. On a pink cardbase and with a
little pink sequin as an accent, any female would be happy with this,
regardless of their age!
The second card uses the Work of Art and Bring on the
Cake. Using six different pastel toned
inks, I stamped the centre area of the white cardstock front with two different
stamps so that it looks a bit like a paintbrush effect. I then stamped the Happy Birthday with
versamark, sprinkled it with gold embossing powder, flicked off the excess and
heat embossed it for a glossy effect. I
added a few gold sequins and mounted the front onto a pale pink cardbase.
For the last card I used the Big Day stamp set again, stamping a strip of white cardstock and
colouring it with markers, and trimmed the bottom to look like a ribbon and
then mounted it on a dark pink matt layer, adding a strand of gold sequins
attached with a staple in the top left corner.
On the dark pink card base I
mounted patterned paper which was very in keeping with a birthday party. I then added the stamped section on, off
centre.
Have you made any cards lately?
Till next,
Annette
